5x7 inches is the most popular greeting card size and the safest default - it is the standard used by major card companies, fits standard A7 envelopes (5.25" x 7.25"), ships with regular first-class postage, and leaves plenty of room for artwork and a message. Smaller formats work well when the message is short.
