Question
What file format should I use for POS print files?
Answer
Submit point-of-sale artwork as a press-ready PDF. PDF locks in fonts, images, and layout so the printed piece matches what you designed, and it is the easiest format to set up correctly.
- Resolution: 300 DPI at final size for crisp text and images.
- Color mode: CMYK, not RGB, so colors print as expected.
- Bleed: 0.125" on all sides so edges trim cleanly.
- Fonts: embed or outline them to prevent substitution.
Whenever a digital proof is available, review it before production starts. Catching a typo or color issue on the proof is far cheaper than reprinting a full run.
