For most print products, a print ready PDF is the safest file format because it locks in your fonts, spacing, and image placement so nothing shifts on press.
- Format: export a high resolution PDF whenever possible.
- Color mode: set the file to CMYK, not RGB, so on screen colors translate accurately to ink.
- Resolution: use 300 DPI for crisp text and imagery.
- Bleed and safe zone: extend the background past the trim edge and keep text away from the cut line.
Starting from a correctly sized blank template is the easiest way to guarantee your dimensions and bleed areas are right before you upload.
