Answer
For a 6" x 9" envelope, pick a postcard a touch smaller so it slides in without forcing. Leaving a little clearance on each side keeps the card from binding or bending at the mouth of the envelope.
- Rule of thumb: stay roughly a quarter inch smaller than the envelope on each dimension
- Standard sizes: a 5.5" x 8.5" postcard fits with room to spare
