What size envelope fits a standard greeting card?
Answer
Match the envelope to your card size with a little breathing room so the card slides in and out without bending. The two most common greeting card sizes each have a standard envelope.

- If you are cutting your own, allow at least 1.5" of extra paper on each side for the flaps.
- An A7 at 5.25" x 7.25" gives a 5x7 card roughly a quarter inch of clearance, which is ideal.
- Too tight and the card creases going in, too loose and it shifts in the mail.
