Whether a flyer fits an envelope without folding comes down to matching the flyer size to the envelope size. A 5.5" x 8.5" half-letter flyer slips into an A2 envelope flat, while a full US Letter flyer has to be folded to fit a standard business envelope. International markets use the DL and A-series system instead.
- A2 envelope: fits a 5.5" x 8.5" half-letter flyer flat, no folding.
- #10 business envelope: needs a US Letter flyer tri-folded to about 3.67" x 8.5".
- DL envelope: fits a DL flyer at roughly 3.94" x 8.27", common outside the US.
