Question

Is the standard business card size the same worldwide?

Answer

No, the standard shifts by region. The U.S. size is the most common, but Europe and Japan use slightly different dimensions to fit their local card holders and wallets.

Region	Standard size (in)	Metric
United States / Canada	3.5 x 2	89 x 51 mm
Europe	3.346 x 2.165	85 x 55 mm
Japan	3.582 x 2.165	91 x 55 mm

The U.S. size fits most holders worldwide, so it is a safe default.
If you regularly do business abroad, matching the local size reads as a nice detail.
Design in the exact regional size from the start so nothing gets cropped when you trim.
