What's the difference between stickers and decals?

The terms overlap, and in practice all decals are stickers, but not all stickers are decals. The difference comes down to size, thickness, how the design gets onto the surface, and where each one lives. Stickers are the smaller, everyday branding pieces. Decals are larger and built for tougher surfaces.
