Answer
On scratch-off cards, keep important text and graphics a safe distance inside the scratch panel so nothing critical sits right at the edge of the scratch material. Elements too close to the coating can be clipped or hard to read once the panel is applied.
- Leave roughly an eighth of an inch (about 0.125 in) of clearance between the scratch-off panel and any nearby text or graphics
- Keep key elements inside the safe zone, away from the trim and bleed edges
- Avoid placing the hidden reveal (codes, prizes, messages) right under the very edge of the coating
- Check placement against the product template before finalizing, since options can vary by product
