Question
What file resolution is acceptable for printing logos?
Answer
Logos print cleanest when they are either vector art or a high-resolution raster file, because logos often have crisp edges and fine detail that show every flaw.
- Vector (AI, EPS, PDF): ideal, since it stays razor-sharp at any size.
- Raster (JPG, TIFF, PNG): at least 300 DPI at the size it will print.
- Avoid enlarging small web logos, which are usually 72 dpi and turn fuzzy.
Not sure your logo file will hold up? Ask your printer to assess the resolution before production.
