Question
What is NCR paper and how is it used?
Answer
NCR paper, short for No Carbon Required, is a carbonless paper used for multi-part forms. A special coating transfers what you write on the top sheet onto the sheets below, so you get instant copies without any messy carbon paper in between.
- Each part is usually a different color to keep copies organized.
- Copies form automatically as you write, no carbon sheet needed.
- Often supplied with standard perforation for easy tear-off.
- Different parts can carry different printing, such as file, customer, and office copies.
| Set type | Parts |
|---|---|
| 2-part | Original plus one copy |
| 3-part | Original plus two copies |
| 4-part | Original plus three copies |
