Question

What is a Tri-Fold?

Answer

A tri-fold, sometimes called a letter fold, divides a sheet into three panels using two parallel folds. One outer panel folds in and the other folds over it, so the finished piece folds down to roughly one-third of the sheet, the classic brochure look.

  • Three panels per side: six panels total counting front and back.
  • Two parallel folds: the panels tuck over one another like a letter.
  • Panel sizing: the panel that folds inside is made slightly narrower so it does not buckle.
  • Good for: product brochures, rack cards, and mailers that fit a standard envelope.
