Question
What are print size templates and why do I need them?
Answer
A print size template is a pre-formatted file that shows the exact print dimensions, bleed area, trim line, and safe zone for a specific product. It is the blueprint your artwork should sit inside.
- Bleed line: where background art should extend to so no white edges appear after cutting
- Trim line: where the piece will actually be cut
- Safe zone: the inner area where text and logos should stay so nothing important is trimmed off
Designing on the template means your file matches production specs from the start, which prevents cut-off text, misaligned graphics, and rejected uploads. It saves a round of back-and-forth and gets your job to press faster.
