Lenticular printing costs more per unit than standard flat printing because it uses a specialty lens material plus a precise interlacing and alignment process that flat printing does not require. • Lens material: the ribbed lenticular lens is a specialty plastic that costs more than paper stock.
• Image interlacing: two or more frames are sliced and woven together so the image shifts as the viewing angle changes.
• Registration: the printed interlace has to line up under the lens with tight tolerance, which adds setup time.
