Question

How should I set up my design file for circle printing?

Answer

Circular designs need their safe area and bleed planned around the round trim so nothing important gets cut.

  • Keep key text and logos inside the center 80% of the circle.
  • Extend backgrounds and images all the way to the bleed edge to avoid white slivers after die-cutting.
  • Include the standard 0.125" bleed beyond the final trim.
  • Set files to CMYK at 300 DPI, and start from a round template with the guides already in place.
