Question
What file dimensions should I use for place cards?
Answer
Build your file at the finished, flat size of the place card, then add bleed so nothing important sits at the trim edge. If the card folds to stand up, set up the full unfolded size.
- Set the document to the card's finished size. For a folded tent place card, use the flat, unfolded dimensions.
- Add 0.125 inch of bleed on every side for any background color or image that runs to the edge.
- Keep names, text, and logos at least 0.125 inch inside the trim so they are not cut off.
- Export at 300 DPI in CMYK for clean, print-ready output.
