If I emboss or deboss a design on a business card, will the impression be visible on both sides?
Answer
Embossing and debossing are one-sided finishes. The impression shows on the side you specify, not on the reverse.
- Emboss: a raised impression pressed up from the surface
- Deboss: a recessed impression pressed into the surface
- Visibility: the effect appears on one face only, and the opposite side stays flat
- Plan ahead: set up artwork so the impression sits exactly where you want it
