Question
What is a lanyard slot?
Answer
A lanyard slot is a punched hole in a badge or card that gives you a place to attach a hook, clip, or cord so the piece can hang from a lanyard. It saves you from having to punch or clip through your printed area after the fact.
- Single slot: one hole, usually centered near the top edge.
- Double slot: two holes, typically at the top corners, which keeps the badge from spinning and holds it flat against the wearer.
When you set up your artwork, keep important text and logos clear of the slot area so nothing important is punched through.
