Question

How do I choose the right banner size?

Answer

Start with viewing distance and the space you have to hang the banner. The farther away your audience is, the bigger the banner and the text need to be.

SettingTypical viewing distanceSuggested size
Indoor booth, table, events and parties3 to 10 ft2x4 ft up to 3x5 ft
Storefronts and building fronts10 to 30 ft3x6 ft to 3x8 ft or larger
Trade shows and stages10 to 30 ft4x8 ft and up
Roadside and long-distance viewing50 ft or more4x8 ft and up, the largest practical size for the mount
  • Measure the mounting area first so the banner fits the wall, fence, or frame.
  • For outdoor placements, go at least 3 feet tall so the banner reads from the street, and keep the copy short: a headline and one line of detail beat a paragraph.
  • Custom dimensions are available when a standard size does not fit your space.
  • Keep the aspect ratio in mind so your artwork is not stretched or cropped.
