Question
What does 'Straight To Production' mean?
Answer
Straight To Production skips the proof-approval step, so a passing file goes into the press queue without waiting for your sign-off. It also authorizes the team to make your files print-ready, which shortens turnaround but locks in the design once printing starts.
- You will not be asked to approve a proof for that order, which removes the biggest source of delay.
- Your file still goes through the standard file review, and compliance fixes for size, bleed, and trim can still be made.
- If it passes review, it moves into production automatically.
- Once it starts, major design or layout changes and file swaps are no longer possible.
- Best when you are confident the file is final and print-ready and want to save time. If you want a proof before printing, leave this option off.
