Can you raise letters on plastic cards, or only numbers?
Answer
Raised (embossed) personalization on plastic cards is available for numbers only. Raised lettering is not offered, so any text you want in a raised finish would need to be numeric.
- Raised numbering: available, similar to the embossing on a credit card.
- Raised letters: not available.
- Letters and other text can still be printed flat on the card.
- Raised numbers are often paired with sequential numbering for member or account IDs.
If your design needs names or words to stand out, plan for printed text rather than raised, and reserve embossing for numeric fields.
