Question
Can I get double-sided printing for canning labels?
Answer
Most canning labels are printed on one side because the back of the material is the adhesive that bonds to the jar or can. There is one useful exception to know about:
- Opaque stocks: printed on the front only, since the back is the adhesive surface.
- Clear film labels: can carry a back print that shows through the transparent material for a layered, printed-on-the-glass effect.
- Two-label approach: for a genuine front-and-back design, apply two separate labels on opposite sides of the container.
If you need artwork visible from both sides, clear stock or a two-label layout is the practical route, so choose your material with that goal in mind from the start.
