In most cases the order comes first: the proof is generated from your placed order, so it shows your real file rather than a generic preview. Select the free online proof option while ordering, and you are not charged until you approve.

• Select the option: choose "Free Online Proof" in the instant price calculator when calculating your price.
• Place the order: the proof is built from your actual file and posted to your account.
• What it shows: your actual design, colors and layout, with the specifications you selected.
• No charge yet: no charge applies during the proof stage; you are charged when you approve the proof and authorize the order.
• Your sign-off: only you can accept and approve the proof, and approving it is what sends the job to print.
