Question
Why does my Cricut tear sticker paper instead of cutting it cleanly?
Answer
Ragged cuts almost always trace back to the blade or the material settings. A dull blade is the most common culprit, but pressure and settings matter too.
- Replace the blade: swap the fine-point blade if cuts look torn or the paper catches.
- Check the material setting: pick the correct one in Design Space for your paper.
- Dial in pressure: too much tears the sheet, too little leaves incomplete cuts.
- Use a clean mat: a worn or dirty mat lets the paper shift mid-cut.
A fresh blade plus the right settings solves this almost every time. For flawless contour cuts at volume, professional die-cutting is the reliable route.
