Which sticker stock is best for writing on?
Answer
If you need to write on your stickers by hand, choose an uncoated stock. Coated and laminated finishes are designed to resist ink, so pens and markers tend to bead up or smear, while an uncoated surface is porous and absorbs ink and lets it dry in place.
- Uncoated stock accepts pen, pencil, and marker, including ballpoint, gel, felt-tip, and permanent markers
- Gloss, matte laminate, and UV coatings repel most inks
- If you also need moisture resistance, a permanent marker works on some coated synthetic films
- Ask for an uncoated finish when you order
- Good for name tags, inventory labels, dates, names, batch numbers, and fill-in fields
