What should I include in my file design for items with folds or die cuts?

For folded or die-cut items, the file should make the structure obvious so nothing is guessed during production. Spell out where the piece folds and where it cuts.

• Fold lines: mark where each fold sits and the fold type, such as zig-zag or trifold.
• Die-cut shape: include the outline of the final cut.
• Bleed: extend artwork past the trim where appropriate.
• Guides: use colored lines to distinguish boundaries, for example pink for trim lines.

The design team will review your file and may ask for clarification to protect the structural integrity of the finished piece, so a quick mockup of the folds helps.
