Question
What bleed and dimensions do I need to provide for a custom belly band template?
Answer
A belly band file is built from the finished band size plus 0.125 inch of bleed on every side, so the wrap prints edge to edge.
- Provide the finished flat length (the full strip that wraps around the product and overlaps) and the height of the band.
- Add 0.125 inch of bleed to every side of the file.
- Extend any background color or image fully into the bleed area.
- Keep text and logos a safe margin inside the trim so nothing is lost at the cut or the overlap.
With those dimensions, a printer can set up a matching template for your artwork.
