Can I print with bleed to avoid white borders?
Yes. Printing with bleed is how you get color and images that run edge to edge with no white slivers along the trim. Bleed means extending your background slightly past the final cut line so small shifts during cutting never expose the paper.
| Setting | Recommended |
|---|---|
| Bleed | 1/8 inch (0.125") on all four sides |
| Safe zone | Keep text and logos 1/8 inch inside the trim |
| Color mode | CMYK |
If you are not sure your file is set up correctly, check the proof carefully before printing.
Want a white border on purpose? Design it into the artwork at least 1/4 inch thick so trimming keeps it even.
