What file format should I use for poster printing?
Answer
PDF is the preferred format for poster printing because it locks in layout, fonts, and color. Before you export, run through a short prep checklist.
- Set the file to 300 DPI at final print size.
- Use CMYK color mode so on-screen colors match the print output.
- Include 0.125 inches of bleed on all sides.
- Embed fonts or convert text to outlines so nothing reflows.
- Flatten transparency to avoid unexpected shifts during production.
