What is the bleed size requirement for hang tags?
Answer
Hang tags follow the same prepress setup as most printed cards. Add a bleed so trimming never leaves a thin white edge, keep critical content inside a safe margin, and build the file in CMYK so the printed colors match what you expect.
- Bleed: extend backgrounds and images 0.125 inch (1/8 inch) past every trim edge.
- Safety margin: keep text, logos, and the string hole a similar distance inside the trim line.
- Color mode: set the document to CMYK rather than RGB for accurate print color.
- Resolution: use images at 300 dpi at final size for crisp results.
