What is a Double Parallel Fold?

A double parallel fold is made by folding a sheet in half and then folding it in half again in the same direction, so both folds run parallel to each other. This produces a compact piece with several nested panels.

• Two parallel folds: the second fold lines up in the same direction as the first.
• Result: a folded piece with eight panels, four on each side, that fits neatly into an envelope.
• Good for: maps, detailed brochures, and mailers that need to pack a lot into a small footprint.
