Question
What are the FSC® On-Product Label - General Requirements?
Answer
The FSC on-product label is the small tree-and-checkmark mark you see on certified printed pieces. It can only be applied when specific requirements are met, because the label is a controlled trademark that signals responsibly sourced fiber to the end reader.
- The job must be printed on FSC-certified stock by an FSC chain-of-custody certified printer
- The label must use the approved FSC trademark artwork, unaltered in shape or proportion
- It must display the printer's FSC license or certificate code
- The correct label category is used based on the fiber content
| Label type | Fiber source |
|---|---|
| FSC 100% | All fiber from FSC-certified forests |
| FSC Recycled | All fiber from reclaimed / recycled material |
| FSC Mix | A blend of certified, recycled, and controlled sources |
