My image is 72 dpi, is that ok?

72 dpi is fine on a screen but not for print. Web graphics are usually 72 dpi, which looks good on a monitor yet lacks the detail a press needs.

• Most web graphics are 72 dpi, which is not a problem for the web.
• For printing, images and files must be 300 dpi at final size.
• Simply upscaling a 72 dpi image to 300 dpi does not add real detail and will still print soft.
• Use the original high-resolution source, or a vector version, whenever you can.

If a photo only exists at 72 dpi, source a larger original before sending it to print.
