Every surface is contaminated to some degree, even when it looks clean, and adhesive vinyl only bonds well to a surface that is truly clean and dry. Follow these recommended steps to give the graphic the best chance of adhering.
- Wash the surface to remove dirt, dust, grease, and grime
- Clean it with an appropriate solvent or cleaner to lift residues that soap leaves behind
- Wipe it fully dry so no moisture is trapped under the vinyl
- Make sure the surface is smooth and free of flaking paint or loose material
- Confirm the surface is within the recommended temperature range before applying
