Question

What file format should I use for Custom Magnets?

Answer

For custom magnets, a print-ready PDF is the safest file to submit because it locks in your layout, fonts, and colors.

  • Preferred format: print-ready PDF
  • Also common: AI, PSD, and EPS files, plus high-resolution JPEG and PNG
  • Color mode: CMYK, which prevents the color shifts you get from RGB
  • Resolution: 300 DPI minimum
  • Setup: include a 0.125" bleed on all sides so there are no white edges after trimming, and keep key elements inside the safety margin

Whichever format you use, flatten or embed your fonts and images so nothing reflows, and double check that the trim size matches the magnet you are ordering. Getting color mode and bleed right matters most on pieces like car magnets, which are viewed up close and in full sun.
