What paper thickness works best for embossing printing?

Thicker stocks give the most dramatic embossed results, because a heavier sheet has the body to hold a deep, crisp raised impression without cracking. As a rule, use 16pt and above.

• 16pt is the recommended minimum for a clean emboss.
• 32pt, roughly three times the thickness of a standard business card, holds the raised impression beautifully and feels substantial in hand.
• The heavier the stock, the more pronounced and durable the embossed effect.
