What is gator board made of?

Gator board is a rigid display board built from a foam core sandwiched between two tough outer faces. That construction is what makes it far sturdier than ordinary foam board while staying lighter than solid materials.

• The core is a dense extruded polystyrene foam that gives the board its body.
• Each face is a layer of wood-fiber veneer bonded to that foam core.
• The result is lighter than solid wood or plastic but much more rigid and durable.
• Compared with standard paper-faced foam board, the wood-fiber surface resists dents and warping.
