Should I include the platform name or just the icon next to my handle?

Use the icon on its own. Platform logos are recognized worldwide, so spelling out the name next to them just eats space you could use for something useful.
- Skip the redundancy: the Instagram glyph already says Instagram.
- Size icons around 10 to 12pt so they read instantly without dominating the layout.
- Keep every icon in the same style and weight for a clean, deliberate look.
- Line the icons up with your handle so the eye scans them as one unit.
