Foamcore comes in two common thicknesses, and the right one depends on how the sign will be supported and how much rigidity it needs.

| 1/2 inch | easel-mounted signs and freestanding displays |
Thinner boards keep weight down for hanging, while the thicker board resists bowing when a sign has to stand on its own.
