Question
How many printed materials should I bring to a trade show?
Answer
A good rule of thumb is to bring about 1.5 times the expected attendee count for your core handouts. Not everyone takes a piece, but plenty grab extras for colleagues, so a buffer keeps you from running dry mid-show and losing leads you cannot recover.
| Expected attendees | Suggested print run (business cards / brochures) |
|---|---|
| 1,000 | 1,500+ |
| 2,000 | 3,000+ |
| 5,000 | 7,500+ |
- Order a little extra of your lightest, cheapest pieces (business cards, flyers) since those go fastest.
- Confirm your paper stock and finish with a sample order before committing to a large run.
- Split large runs by day if the show spans multiple days, so you can restock the booth each morning.
