Do I need special file setup for specialty printing?

Yes. Effects like foil and spot UV need a separate layer or mask that tells the press exactly where to apply them, on top of your normal color file.

• Add a dedicated mask layer for each special effect (foil, spot UV, and so on).
• Fill mask areas with solid black (100% K) or a named spot color.
• Keep the mask on its own layer, separate from your CMYK artwork.
• Use a template for the specific product so trim, bleed, and mask register correctly.
• Review a proof before production so any setup issues get caught early.
