Can I write on gloss laminated prints?
Answer
Not easily. The laminate film is smooth and non-porous, so standard pens and pencils tend to skip or smear. If you need a writable area, plan for it in the layout.
- Leave one side uncoated: a common fix for postcards and hangtags.
- Use matte on the writing side: matte takes pen far better than gloss.
- Gloss front, plain back: a popular combo for mailers you write on.
