Can I add lamination to make thin paper feel thicker?

Lamination adds a thin film to each side, so it does give a sheet a bit more body and rigidity, but it will not turn lightweight paper into cardstock. Treat it as a finishing layer, not a substitute for choosing the right base weight.
- What it does add: a small amount of thickness, some stiffness, and a protective, tear-resistant surface.
- What it will not do: make 80 GSM paper feel like a 16pt card. The starting stock still sets the overall feel.
