Very heavy ink coverage on soft touch stock can work against the finish. The velvety surface is delicate, so dense ink can reduce that signature soft feel and, over time, may show wear depending on handling.
- Finish quality: heavy coverage can flatten or diminish the velvet texture.
- Durability: with frequent handling, dense ink can begin to rub off over time.
- How to avoid it: reduce ink coverage in dense areas, or choose a coated stock that holds heavy ink better.
If your design is ink-heavy but you still want a premium touch, consider a laminated stock as an alternative to soft touch.
