Question
Why does my business card look blurry when printed from Photoshop?
Answer
A blurry printed card almost always traces back to file resolution. Photoshop defaults new web documents to 72 PPI, which looks fine on screen but is far too low for print. Sharp printing needs 300 PPI.
- Check your file under Image then Image Size.
- If resolution is below 300 PPI, rebuild the file at 300 rather than typing in a higher number.
- Raising the number on an existing file only stretches the pixels you already have, which does not add real detail.
- Place logos and text as vectors or high-resolution assets whenever possible.
