Silk laminated cards are water-resistant rather than fully waterproof. The lamination film seals the printed surface, so it repels droplets and keeps brief moisture from soaking into the paper.

• A splash, damp hands, or short exposure to rain will not damage the card.
• The film protects the printed faces, keeping ink from running or smearing.
• The edges are the weak point, since that is where the lamination meets bare paper.
• Prolonged soaking or submersion can eventually work moisture in through those edges.

For everyday spills and weather the finish holds up well, but it is not built to survive being left in water.
