Stationery, stock and pickup

Six reasons businesses leave Printleaf

01

Royal Laid, linen and 80pt black in one stock list

Letterheads here come on 24# Royal Laid in Bright White, Natural White or Gray, 28# Royal Linen or 70# Uncoated Text, and foil letterheads are a product of their own.

02

Sixty products at Printleaf, 1,000+ here

1,000+ products versus Printleaf's 60+, so the posters and booklets go on the same account as the stationery.

03

Printed in Queens

The presses are on the 4OVER4.COM floor in Queens, and a letterhead order ships in 5 business days and printed envelopes in 7, or can be picked up in NYC.

04

Business cards from 13pt to 80pt

Classic business cards run on 74 stocks from 13pt to 80pt, and black business cards start at 32pt Midnite Black Uncoated, so the card matches the weight of the letterhead.

05

Canvs and blank templates, free

Set a letterhead or envelope up in Canvs, the free online designer, or download a print-ready blank template sized to the product. There is no design software to buy before the first order.

06

Free cards and coins on every order

New customers get 200 free business cards, and every order earns loyalty coins toward the next one.

Stationery stock

Stationery is where thin paper shows first

Stationery is where a short paper list shows first. A laid sheet has a fine ribbed texture and a linen sheet a woven one, and both read as correspondence before a word is read, while the 70# uncoated sheet is the everyday option.

Color holds from the letterhead to the envelope because the presses are G7 color profiled, so a logo in one brand color matches across the set.

1

Pricing

500 printed envelopes cost $146.12 and 1,000 cost $153.87, about 15 cents an envelope.

2

Envelopes

Printed envelopes come in 41 sizes and styles, #10 window and peel and seal among them, on White Wove or the matching Royal Laid and Royal Linen.

3

Support

Dedicated account managers and a free file check on every order, and a person on 718-932-2700 by phone or SMS.

Paper and range

Letterhead paper and the rest of the account

Laid, linen, wove and raised foil

On a letterhead the choice between 70# Uncoated Text and 28# Royal Linen Bright White is the difference between a form and a piece of correspondence, and the price of each is on the calculator before you commit.

Posters and booklets on the same account as your envelopes

Business cards, postcards, flyers, banners, stickers, labels, booklets and posters sit on the same 4OVER4.COM account as the letterheads and envelopes.

The fastest way to feel the upgrade

The long read

Printleaf and 4OVER4.COM for the New York buyer

Printleaf sells its products over a Manhattan counter. The parts below cover the gaps, price, finishes and fit for a New York buyer.

What New York buyers leave Printleaf for

Premium business cards printed by 4OVER4.COM

Paper, range and a firm ship date are the three gaps. The guide on how to pick a printing service online lists what to check first, and Daily Deals take 35 to 40% off rotating products.

The Loyalty Program pays coins on every order toward the next one, which Printleaf does not offer.

Pricing you can actually plan around

Flyers printed by 4OVER4.COM

Compare the stock weight, the finish and the ship date along with the sticker number. 100 classic business cards cost $17.57 and 2,000 cost $87.87, about 4 cents a card, and 2,000 standard postcards come to about 6 cents each. Our guide to affordable printing shows how to compare printing prices like for like.

Free file review, cutting and packaging are in the base price, and a lower written quote for the same product on comparable stock and turnaround is matched and beaten by 10%.

Finishes clients notice

Premium brochures printed by 4OVER4.COM

Soft touch lamination gives a card a velvet feel, spot UV puts a gloss layer on one element, and raised foil catches the light. Each is a card of its own, so the price shows before you commit.

Who gains most from the switch

Offices that want the letterhead, the envelope and the card from one floor, marketing teams running flyers, postcards and banners from one account, and e-commerce brands ordering packaging inserts, labels and stickers.

4.8/ 5

The verdict

The better pick for New York stationery: letterheads on Royal Laid or Royal Linen, matching envelopes, pickup in NYC and a published price match.

Buyer checklist

How to judge envelope and letterhead print quality

Stationery is where cheap printing shows first. Five checks tell you what you are holding.

Registration. Look where a logo meets a rule, or where two colors touch on the flap. Bad registration reads as a hairline of white along one edge or a soft double image. On a #10 envelope, 4.125 by 9.5 inches, line the return address block up against the window if the style has one.

Ink density. A solid panel of color should be even end to end, with no banding, mottling or roller tracks. Heavy solid coverage on an uncoated envelope is the hardest thing on the floor to hold flat, so judge a printer on that, not on a small logo.

Stock weight and opacity. Letterhead lives around 24lb bond or 70lb text. Hold the printed sheet over a dark surface: if the back reads through, the stock is too light for double-sided use, and the same sheet will show through a window envelope.

Edge cracking. Fold a letterhead in thirds and fold the envelope flap over. Heavy ink across an unscored fold cracks white on a coated sheet, so ask whether folds are scored before folding.

Laser compatibility. Letterhead has to survive your office printer. A coating that will not take toner is a fail however good the sheet feels.

Run those checks on our stock before you commit: order printed envelopes and letterheads, or ask for free samples first. Free file review comes with every order, so a low-resolution logo or a fold landing in the wrong place gets flagged before it goes on press.

New York questions

Common Questions

Eight answers for New York buyers on envelope sizes, pickup, price, turnaround, samples and large format. Every other printing question is on our FAQs hub.

Which envelope fits a letterhead?

A letterhead folded in thirds fits a #10 envelope, 4.125 x 9.5 inches, and the #10 window version shows the address block through the front. Printed envelopes come in 41 sizes and styles, from a #6 1/4 to a 10 x 13 booklet envelope.

Can I pick up an order in NYC?

Yes. Orders print on the 4OVER4.COM floor in Queens, and New York customers can pick up instead of paying to ship. Local options city by city are on our locations page.

What makes 4OVER4.COM a better Printleaf alternative?

A longer stationery list, envelopes on matching stocks, five written guarantees and loyalty coins on every order, from a printer working since 1999.

Does 4OVER4.COM offer the same products as Printleaf?

Yes, and a broader list: business cards, postcards, flyers, stickers, banners, posters and labels, plus colored-center layered cards and spot UV finishes. Compare other options on the Axiomprint alternative page.

How does 4OVER4.COM handle delivery and turnaround?

99.8% of orders arrive on time and 82% ship early, with same-day options on select items. For the stationery on this page that means letterheads in 5 business days and envelopes in 7.

Is 4OVER4.COM more expensive than Printleaf?

Price the same stock and count at both. 50 letterheads on 70# Uncoated Text with black ink cost $99.95 here, with Royal Laid and Royal Linen priced higher, and the price match covers a lower written quote for the identical product.

Can I get samples before placing a full order?

Yes. The free samples kit ships free, so you can hold the laid, linen and card stocks before a full run.

Does 4OVER4.COM work for large-format printing too?

Yes: banners, posters, signage and trade show displays print alongside cards and flyers on the same account. For banners specifically, the Bannerbuzz alternative page has a detailed breakdown.
