A Box That Protects the Product and Sells the Brand

Your customer touches the box before the product. A plain brown carton says nothing; ours carries your logo and colors in full color on the outside, printed in-house on cover-weight board. Buyers rate these boxes 4.8 out of 5 across 13 reviews.

The box protects the product in transit and puts your name in the customer's hands when they open the delivery. Every packaging format we print is on custom box printing; the choices below build the shipping box.

Check the first two tiers before you order: 250 and 500 boxes cost the same $711.78, so the 500 run halves the price of each box. From there the per-box cost keeps falling to about $0.37 at 25,000, and the 9 tiers below give the total at each count. Larger orders also unlock deeper bulk discounts.

What Are Custom Shipping Boxes

Shipping boxes at 4OVER4 are custom printed mailer boxes made to your artwork, printed in-house on cover-weight board in full color on the outer face. They come in 2 finished sizes, on 2 materials, in quantities from 250 to 25,000 units, with the size, material, quantity, and proofing all set in the live configurator. For a mailer with a different build, see our custom mailer boxes.

The box carries your product from your bench to a doorstep in one piece, and the printed outside shows your logo, colors and message when it arrives. We print it from your files. Pick the finished size, one of two board weights and the quantity, and the total changes with each pick. For smaller or specialty shapes, the Pillow Boxes sit right alongside shipping boxes in the same range.

What Sizes Do Shipping Boxes Come In

Our shipping boxes come in 2 finished sizes: 5" x 7" x 1.7" and 5.5" x 5.5" x 2.625". The 5" x 7" x 1.7" box is the default. You can also order a custom size made to order up to 6" x 7", and the price follows the size you choose.

The default 5" x 7" x 1.7" box is a flat mailer shape for apparel, prints, books or anything that lies down. The 5.5" x 5.5" x 2.625" box is a deeper near-square, better for cubes, jars, or bundled items that need height. If neither fits your product, a custom size is made to order up to 6" x 7", so the box hugs what goes inside instead of letting it rattle around. A snug box needs less filler and makes a cleaner unboxing. The sizes, materials and print options appear below in the configurator's order.

What Materials Are Shipping Boxes Printed On

We print shipping boxes on 2 cover-weight materials: a 14pt Uncoated Cover and an 18pt Cover with gloss on one side. Printing is full color on the front face (4/0) with a blank reverse, in a standard finish, from a print-ready PDF, JPG, or PNG.

The 14pt Uncoated Cover has a natural matte feel that takes a pen and a stamp, a good fit for a handmade brand. The heavier 18pt Cover with gloss on one side has a smoother printed face, so photos and strong brand colors stand out on the outside of the box. Printing is 4/0, meaning full color on the outer face and a blank interior, finished with the standard finish. You upload the artwork, and we print, cut and finish the boxes in-house.

How Much Do Shipping Boxes Cost

A run of 250 costs $711.78, about $2.85 per box. Jump from 250 to 1,000 boxes and the total moves from $711.78 to only $797.02, so you get four times the boxes for about $85 more and the per-box cost falls to roughly $0.80. Keep going and 5,000 run $2,231.42 (about $0.45 each) and 25,000 run $9,146.26 (about $0.37 each). Set the slider below to the orders you ship in a quarter and read the run total and the per-box cost together.

How Fast Can You Get Shipping Boxes

Standard production for 4OVER4 shipping boxes is 7 business days from proof approval, which gives the in-house team time to print, cut, and finish the run correctly. Before anything prints, you decide how to handle proofing.

Pick the free online proof and you get a digital check of your file to catch a typo or a color surprise before it multiplies across thousands of boxes, or choose straight to production when your file is already locked and you want to skip a step. Either way, 99.8% of 4OVER4 orders arrive on time, so the date you are planning around holds.

Shipping Boxes: Frequently Asked Questions

Are these sturdy enough to actually ship in?

They are printed on cover-weight board, in a 14pt Uncoated Cover or a heavier 18pt Cover with gloss on one side. The 18pt is the thicker of the two, so it is the one to choose when the contents need more support in transit. Pack the box so the product is not moving inside it, since fit does as much for protection as board weight.

Which size fits a flat product versus a bulkier one?

There are 2 sizes: a 5" x 7" x 1.7" flat mailer for shallow items and a deeper 5.5" x 5.5" x 2.625" box for anything with height. Custom sizing is made to order up to 6" x 7" if neither footprint fits. Choosing the closer size cuts the amount of void fill you have to buy.

What does a run of custom shipping boxes cost?

250 boxes start at $711.78, about $2.85 each. As the run climbs to 25,000, the per-box cost drops to about $0.37. The unit price is the reason most shops order for a quarter rather than a week.

Is the printing on the outside or the inside?

Printing is 4/0, full color on the outer face with a blank reverse, so the branding is on the surface the customer sees on the doorstep. The interior stays unprinted. Files go in as a print-ready PDF, JPG or PNG.

How far ahead do I need to order?

Standard turnaround is 7 business days, printed in-house, with a free online proof before it runs. That is production time, so add the transit leg to get boxes into your packing area. If you ship on a weekly cycle, order the next batch well before the current one runs out.

Is a printed box worth it over a plain carton?

The box is the first thing a customer touches, before the product ever comes out, so the printed exterior turns a delivery into a brand moment instead of a plain brown carton. It does both jobs at once, protecting the product in transit and carrying your name at the moment attention is highest. The product is rated 4.8 out of 5 across 13 reviews.
