Put Your Number in Every Homeowner's Hand

A cold snap or a heat wave turns into a phone call when your flyer is already on the door. Leave it on a handle, tuck it into a mailer, or set a stack on the counter at the supply house, and it puts your services, your number and a reason to call today straight into a homeowner's hand.

A test of 50 covers one street, and a canvass of a whole service area runs into the thousands. Every other flyer style sits on flyers printing.

What is an HVAC flyer

An HVAC flyer is a full-color sheet heating and cooling companies hand out or leave behind to advertise AC repair, furnace service and maintenance plans.

HVAC flyer templates and design ideas

Six layouts do almost all the work in this trade, and each changes what belongs in the biggest type on the sheet. Keep one offer per sheet: a flyer with a tune-up price, a financing line and a maintenance plan at equal weight reads as an advertisement, while a flyer with one of them reads as an offer.

1. The tune-up offer

One price, one service, one deadline. The offer sits in the top third at the largest size, the system types you service go under it in one line, and the phone number owns the bottom third. This is the layout that fills a slow shoulder season.

2. Emergency repair

Nobody reads this one twice; they read it once and keep it. Print the hours you actually answer, the area you cover and the number, large enough to dial from a phone held at arm's length, on a heavy stock that survives life on a fridge door.

3. Financing

A replacement is a four-figure decision, so lead with the monthly figure, not the system price. Show the payment, the term and what approval takes, then the equipment details underneath, and keep the terms line legible.

4. Maintenance plan

A subscription pitch on paper: the annual or monthly cost, the visits included, the priority-service benefit and the member repair discount, as a short list. A two-sided print earns its keep here, with the plan tiers on the back.

5. New system quote

The job is to get a technician into the house, so the assessment is the headline and the brands are secondary. Talk efficiency in the homeowner's words: a lower bill, quieter running, rooms that hold temperature.

6. Referral card

The smallest size works hardest. Print the reward for both sides of the referral, leave a line for the existing customer's name, and hand a stack to every technician for the truck.

What sizes do HVAC flyers come in

  • On a door: the 5.5" x 8.5" half sheet holds a headline, a coupon and a number and tucks into a door frame or a screen handle. To hang it from the knob, use a die-cut piece from door hanger printing instead.
  • In the mail: the 4" x 9" slides into a standard business envelope, and for anything mailed pick a cover weight, since 70# text arrives creased. Check size limits with your carrier, since postage is priced on the piece.
  • On a counter: the 4.25" x 5.5" default is the stack by a till or in an invoice folder, the 4.25" x 11" works like a rack card, and the 8.5" x 11" is the leave-behind for a quote appointment.
  • On a wall: the 11" x 17" and 11" x 25.5" are read from across a supply house, so they carry a headline and a number and little else.

What paper stocks and finishes can you choose

For a low-cost mass drop, the 70# uncoated text takes pen and highlighter and keeps the price down. The 100# gloss and silk/matte text give install photos a richer look for a small step up. The 80# gloss cover, 100# silk/matte cover and 14pt gloss cover hold up to handling and mailing, and the 14pt uncoated cover made with 30% recycled content suits a crew that sells a greener service. A High Gloss UV Coating deepens a before-and-after photo.

The checklist, in the order it should appear

  1. Your license number, near the company name, the first trust signal a careful homeowner looks for.
  2. A short service list: repair, replacement, maintenance, indoor air quality, ductwork, whatever you run trucks for.
  3. The financing line, next to the replacement content rather than at the foot of the page.
  4. The maintenance plan, named and priced, with what a member gets that a caller does not.
  5. One before and after photograph of a real install at good size.
  6. A coupon with an expiry date and a code, so the phone rings and you can count what the run returned.

Add a QR code on the back that opens your booking page or a review form, so a homeowner books from the couch.

Design it without a designer

Start from a layout in our flyer design templates and change the colors, copy and logo in the online editor.

For finished art, each blank flyer template is built at the real trim size with the 1/8" bleed and safe margin drawn in, so the coupon and the number stay clear of the cut.

How much do HVAC flyers cost

Count the doors on the route, plus a stack for the counter and the truck. Fifty flyers work out to about 79 cents each, 500 run $108.75 for a subdivision, 1,000 run $126.32 for two, and a 6,000-flyer run lands near 5 cents a flyer. Set the slider below to the doors on your route to see the set total and the per-flyer cost.

Seasonal HVAC flyer campaigns

  • Spring, the AC tune-up: drop it before the first warm week, with the tune-up price and the line that closes it: book now and skip the wait behind the July emergency calls.
  • Summer, emergency repair: lead with availability, not price, on a heavy stock.
  • Fall, the furnace check: lead with safety and the bill, a pre-winter inspection and a filter change.
  • Winter, the no heat call: the after-hours line and little else, for somebody standing in a cold house.

Printing two seasons on the same day costs less per door than reprinting each one when the season turns.

How fast can you get HVAC flyers printed

HVAC flyers print on a 3 business day standard turnaround, and when the forecast moves faster than the plan you can shift that to 2-day, Next-Day or even Same-Day production. Each step buys back time for a set percentage on top of the base price. Same-Day orders need to be approved by 12pm ET to ship that day out of our NYC plant. Check color and trim on a free online proof or a next-day hardcopy proof, or go straight to production. 99.8% of 4OVER4 orders land on time and 82% ship early.
