Hand Out a Flyer That Owns the Fourth
4th of July flyers put a BBQ menu, a fireworks schedule, a storewide sale or a block-party invite into people's hands in the first week of July. They are rated 4.7 out of 5 across 18 reviews, and you can tape them in a Main Street window, drop them in register bags at a shop, or mail a route map before the parade.
For a parade or a street fair, 300 flyers cost $85.68, about 29 cents each, against 79 cents each in a set of 50, so a full box for the holiday weekend costs far less per flyer than a quick test batch.
What Are 4th of July Flyers
4th of July flyers are full-color promotional flyers built for Independence Day. They do the work when the Fourth turns into a sales weekend: storewide sale sheets, fireworks and parade schedules, BBQ and block-party invites, restaurant and bar promos, and community-event handouts.
Because the Fourth is a marketing moment for nearly every business, one themed flyer covers a lot of jobs. The same sizes, stocks and prices run all year as Standard Flyers, and the Grand Opening Flyers use the identical spec for a launch day.
What Size Should a 4th of July Flyer Be
Pick the size by how much your holiday message needs to say. The 4.25" x 5.5" default is the classic quick handout for a counter or a car window. Step up to 4" x 9" for a rack-card feel, 5.5" x 8.5" for a half-page sale sheet, or 4.25" x 11" for a tall strip that reads like a mini poster. When one design has to double as a window poster, the 11" x 25.5" runs large, and a custom size covers anything in between. The panel below sets out the stock, ink and finish choices. Need a different cut of flyer entirely? The Staggered Cut Flyers stack in a fanned, tiered shape for a rack.
A few easy moves make a 4th of July flyer pull its weight.
Three of the 9 sizes suit the Fourth best. Pick by how the flyer reaches people, not by how much you want to fit on it.
| Size | What it is best for | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| 5.5" x 8.5" | Handouts at a parade or a street fair, register bag stuffers, table drops at a bar. | One offer, one date, one call to action. Anything more and nothing gets read at arm's length. |
| 8.5" x 11" | The all rounder: a menu for a cookout, a full fireworks schedule, a storewide sale, a community bulletin board. Also the size that mails and slips into a folder without folding. | Leave real white space around the headline. A full sheet tempts you to fill it, and a crowded flyer reads slower than a smaller one. |
| 11" x 17" | Posting rather than handing out. A window on Main Street, a shop door, a noticeboard, a wall by the entrance, read from across the sidewalk. | The headline and the date have to carry from ten steps back, so type big and keep the fine print to the bottom third. |

How Much Do 4th of July Flyers Cost
A holiday run is short, so size it to the weekend: 6,000 flyers cost $280.09, under a nickel each. Once the Fourth is over, our year round business flyers cover everyday handouts. The slider below covers the first six tiers, from 50 to 500 flyers.
Full Color, One Side or Both
A 4th of July flyer earns its keep on color. Print 4/0 for full color on the front with a blank back when the message is one-sided, or 4/4 for full color on both sides when you want a menu on the back or a schedule on the flip. Finish it plain for a natural, easy-to-write-on read, or add a High Gloss UV Coating so the reds, whites and blues snap under summer light. Pair either ink choice with the right stock and a 5-inch handout starts doing the work of something much larger.
Design ideas that work for the Fourth
The palette. Red, white and blue is the whole point, but the flyers that read well use it in unequal amounts: one dominant color, one supporting, one for accents only. Navy behind white type is more legible outdoors than red behind white, and a red headline on a white sheet beats a full-bleed red sheet with white text, which loses detail on uncoated stock. If the design starts looking like a flag, take a color out.
The imagery. Fireworks photography needs the dark sky around it, so it wants full color on a coated stock and plenty of the frame; cropped small, it turns into confetti. Flag imagery works better cropped than shown whole, as a stripe field along one edge rather than a flag floating in the middle. Line art, stars, bunting and a stripe rule are quicker to read than photography when the flyer is handed over rather than posted.
The information order. A person reading a flyer at arm's length asks five questions in this order, and the design should answer them in that order too: what is happening (the headline, biggest thing on the sheet), when (the date, then the time, second biggest), where (the place, with a street name a stranger can find), what it costs or what the offer is, and what to do next (call, scan, RSVP, walk in). If a reader has to hunt for the date, redesign it rather than reprint it larger.
Two practical notes for the Fourth specifically. Print the rain plan or a phone number on the flyer, because outdoor events on July 4th get moved and a flyer with no contact leaves people guessing. And if the piece will be handled outdoors all day, take the High Gloss UV Coating: it takes fingerprints, sweat and a spilled drink far better than a plain uncoated sheet.
How Do 4th of July Flyers Compare to the Rest of the Range
The themed 4th of July flyer is the holiday pick. The comparison below puts it beside club, die-cut and business flyers with the starting price of each.
How Fast Can You Get 4th of July Flyers
4th of July flyers print on a 3 business day standard turnaround, and when the date sneaks up you can move that to 2-day, Next-Day or even Same-Day production. Each step buys back time for a set percentage on top of the base price, so you only pay for speed when you actually need it. Same-Day orders need to be approved by the daily cutoff to ship that afternoon from the New York plant.
